Kyra-Kay Rensburg

Kyra is a journalist from South Africa. She has a bachelors degree in the Humanities, with sociology and anthropolgy majors and an honours journalism degree from Stellenbosch University. Kyra became a journalist because she wanted to make a difference in the world. She was inspired by Pulitzer work, documentary films and other features where writers tell stories that would go unheard of, if that person did not record it. Living in South Africa has particularly influenced her to pursue a career in journalism, as the untold stories of many citizens contributes further to the country’s inequality. Kyra’s goal is to produce content that influences society and brings about greater change. Change that  improves people’s lives—even if it is just one person’s life that is made more fair, more equal, and safer. Her life’s philosophy is to leave the world a better place. A place where individuals in a society are more aware of who they are and how they contribute to the interconnected web of life.
