Prague to Become the Hub of Global Journalism Once Again: Journey Program Features Top Experts from CNN and The New York Times

June 24, 2026
Prague, June 24, 2026 – The summer school for young journalists, Journey: Journalism Bootcamp, will hold its eleventh edition this year. From July 31 to August 9, 2026, the Villa Grébovka in Prague's Vinohrady district will host a ten-day intensive program for 21 participants from more than ten countries. Under the guidance of world-class journalists such as Evan Perez (CNN) and Adam Entous (The New York Times), attendees will gain hands-on experience in field reporting, interviewing, and crafting major media stories within an environment shaped by political pressure, disinformation, and a fast-paced news cycle.
This year’s lineup of speakers features prominent figures in global journalism who will share their firsthand expertise. Among them is documentary filmmaker and former Russian teacher Pavel Talankin, whose work focuses on propaganda and the functioning of the Russian education system. His session will include a screening of the Oscar-winning documentary Mr. Nobody vs. Putin, followed by a discussion. During the opening dinner of the Journey program, Talankin will deliver a keynote address to the young journalists on personal responsibility and the boundaries of journalistic work.
Leading reporters from global media outlets will also arrive in Prague. Evan Perez of CNN, who extensively covers American justice and security issues, will lead a lecture titled The Epstein Files (How to handle massive, complex stories), focusing on how to manage large-scale investigative cases. Legendary investigative reporter and Pulitzer Prize winner Adam Entous of The New York Times will offer insights into the creation of exclusive international stories and working with sensitive information.
Other experienced journalists and editors from international newsrooms are strongly represented, but the program is also significantly enhanced by successful Journey alumni returning as lecturers. Maria Mois, an editor for the digital news platform Euronews; Fritz Schumann, a journalist, photographer, and documentary filmmaker specializing in Japan; and Alena Harciniková, a journalist and host of the show Fasády (Façades) on Radio Wave, will lead selected workshops to demonstrate how participants can apply their newly acquired skills in practice. Petr Josek and Erika Kinetz (AP)—the latter focusing long-term on human trafficking and human rights violations—will add their insights from international journalistic practice. Anastasiia Morozova from the Polish news outlet Onet will cover data investigation.
All lectures at Journey include practical exercises in journalism skills. Participants will thus try their hand at conducting interviews, working with sources, and delivering live reports in real time.
The Journey program has a long-standing focus on students aspiring to pursue high-quality, ethical, and international journalism. For this opportunity, participants travel to Prague from all over Europe and other regions to spend ten days gaining experience directly from the people behind the most important stories of our time.
