Apply for the ASSIST & HMC Scholarship Program and Study at a High School in the USA or UK

October 22, 2020
In cooperation with ASSIST – American Secondary Schools for International Students and Teachers and HMC – Headmasters & Headmistresses Conference, and their networks boasting over 300 high schools abroad, we offer scholarships for talented high schoolers interested in studying for a year in the USA or two years in the UK. The scholarships are intended for accomplished and motivated first and second year Czech secondary school students with a high level of English proficiency. The scholarship winners will spend a year at a private American school or two years at a prestigious high school in the UK. The scholarship covers tuition, room, and board. The prestigious Davis International Scholarship program offers two- to three-year study programs leading up to graduation at one of six Davis member boarding schools in the USA. This program is available to students of the 9th grade of primary schools and first year of secondary schools. The deadline for application submission is December 10, 2020. Applicants fill out an online application that includes their most recent school report, information about extracurricular activities, and teacher recommendations. After submitting the application, the applicants are invited to take the Duolingo language proficiency test. Successful candidates are invited to interviews with ASSIST and HMC delegates. Following the interviews, scholarship winners will receive offers by ASSIST or HMC to study in the USA or UK. The scholarship program enables students to experience living abroad, to improve their English, and to increase their chances of being accepted into a university abroad. The proof lies in over 290 alumni of the program, who won the scholarship through Open Society Fund Prague, and many of whom continued their studies at prestigious universities abroad, some of them as Scholarship Program recipients. The Bakala Foundation is succeeding Open Society Fund in this endeavor and is continuing the long-standing cooperation with ASSIST and HMC. Find out more information about the program and the application here. You can also participate in the program presentation, which will take place online on November 4 at 5 pm. Please register here.
