The 10th edition of the Kaplicky Internship, a competition for students and recent graduates of architectural studies at Czech universities, prepared for the winner a three month fully-funded internship at the prestigious Studio Libeskind in NYC. The founder Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind became world famous for the design of the Jewish Museum in Berlin or the concept of buildings that replaced the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan. Applications for the competition are open until July 31, 2024 via the diplom.ky website.
"We are delighted to collaborate with the Kaplicky Internship award honoring the great architect, Jan Kaplicky. Given that it's the 10th anniversary of the foundation, it is a special privilege to support the visionary architect and help promote young talents," said Yama Karim from Studio Libeskind.
Yama Karim participated as a designer in the most extensive projects of Studio Libeskind such as the Albert Einstein Museum in Jerusalem, Reflections, complex of six undulating towers in Singapore or a gigantic project Memory Foundations, the master plan for the World Trade Center redevelopment.
Yama Karim will be one of the jury of this year's Kaplicky Internship competition. Its winner will get the opportunity to kick-start his career in the world's leading Studio Libeskind. "This year's prize is a dream come true for every architecture student. We are extremely happy that we have established cooperation with the Studio Libeskind further advancing the prestige of the competition," said director of the Bakala Foundation Václav Pecha.
