I am originally from Frydek-Mistek, but I have spent most of my life in the city of Ostrava. My childhood mostly consisted of ice hockey practice, since I played on HC Vitkovice Steel youth hockey teams. After my sophomore year of high school, I attended high school in Krefeld, Germany, as part of an exchange program. During my stay in Germany, I participated in a hockey youth league. But, around that time, I finally realized that, despite my love for hockey, I would probably never be good enough to play professionally.
After deciding that becoming a professional athlete was not my path, I began to focus more on my academic life – and my efforts were quickly rewarded. The prospect of studying at a prestigious institution abroad has always appealed to me, so when my letter of acceptance to Northwestern University arrived, I could not have been happier.
I am currently enrolled in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, where I am pursuing degrees in psychology and economics. Outside of the classroom, I work for a student-run consulting group called Analytics, which has led to pursue a potential career in the field of management consulting. I also used to work for the university’s admission office in the department of international admissions, and I currently play ice hockey for the Northwestern University team.
