What happens in our brain before we make an important decision? How is it that we can calculate 3×3, read a book, or write an essay? And what affects these mental operations? One day, I would like to research such questions as a psychologist. That is why I am specifically interested in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology. I am fascinated by human reasoning. How is it possible that there is something known as consciousness in the brain, which can manipulate stimuli and synthesize thoughts?
My interest in psychology can be traced to my time at high school. There, I took part in a psychology seminar and started reading academic literature. At the same time, I was also volunteering at Thomayerova Hospital, where I provided psychosocial support to patients in the pediatric surgery department. I have also managed to become a research assistant in the psychological department of the Czech Academy of Sciences, thanks to which I learned how to conduct an EEG and fNIRS examination under supervision.
Besides psychology, I do Kung-fu, in which I have successfully competed. Another passion of mine is music. I play the guitar and dance standard and Latin American dances. My favorite dance is Tango.
