I am an experimental physicist, currently pursuing a PhD in the Cavendish Laboratory of the University of Cambridge. My research is concerned with ultracold atomic gases – a versatile experimental platform, that allows us to study many-body quantum physics. Specifically, I am interested in quantum systems that are either strongly interacting or out of equilibrium. During my high school studies at Gymnázium, Pardubice, Dašická, I have participated in many science competitions. Among other things, I have been awarded gold and silver medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad or a bronze medal at the International Physics Olympiad. With the support of the Bakala Foundation, I have obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physics (Natural Sciences) from Trinity College, Cambridge. Since 2020, I have been the president of the Cambridge University Czech and Slovak Society. I am also involved with various education-related initiatives in the Czech Republic and occasionally help with running the Chemistry and Physics Olympiads, through lecturing and as an author of the competition problems.
