Veronika Růžičková

I come from Moravská Třebová and I am currently studying partially in English at the Slovanské náměstí Grammar School in Brno. I enjoy languages, in addition to English I learn French and German. I am also interested in mathematics and physics, I have attended several lectures and workshops. I participated in the Czech and English Olympiad, the Mathematical Olympiad and twice I was among the winners of the Expo AMAVET competition in the Pardubice Region. In my free time I devote myself to robotics and programming, I like to read - mainly in English - and one day I would like to write my own book. I wanted to go to Britain mainly because of the opportunity to study IB (International Baccalaureate). I like the focus on critical thinking, and that I can choose only six subjects and study them in depth. I am also looking forward to leisure activities and clubs that the school offers after school. In September 2021, I will join Scarborough College, located in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This boarding school is based on a "family" atmosphere. I am in contact with the school and several local students and so far I have been very impressed.
