How to create an efficient, ecological and inexhaustible source of energy? What are the basic elements of the Universe made of or how to connect relativity with the quantum world? These exciting questions help me to wake up in the morning and thanks to the Bakala Foundation, I am looking forward to examining each one of them during my Physics studies at the ETH Zürich. Under leadership of Dr. Jan Horáček, I have had the opportunity to work at the Institute of Plasma Physics of the Czech Academy of Science, exploring vital questions of the modern fusion physics. That also allowed me to present my work at two scientific conferences, lead a public lecture at the Gymnazium Jana Nerudy in Prague and to be a coauthor of a research poster presented at the 2017 international EPS conference in Belfast. In addition to that, my interests in physics include more than research. I love tutoring children and popularizing science among young generations. In my free time I love playing violin and jazz improvisation on the piano. I also clear my mind in the mountains, enjoying rock climbing, alpinism and hiking.
