Martina Kavanová

I am currently enrolled in the Master's programme Brain and Mind Sciences at University College London. My adolescent years were spent at the Prague school PORG Libeň, where they gave me courage to apply to a university abroad. I was finally convinced to choose my subject when attending Discover Summer Academy where I had the chance to learn about Psychology and Neuroscience from top universities' alumni. In 2015 I started the Experimental Psychology undergraduate course at University of Oxford and got especially interested in the neural basis of memory and neuropsychopharmacology. I was also President of the university Czech and Slovak society where I spent many happy evenings. After my studies I returned to Prague and managed the Pirate Party's campaign for the European election. One year later I am starting the Dual Master's in Brain and Mind Sciences at UCL. This course provides an opportunity to spend one year studying at UCL and one year at ÉNS and Sorbonne universities in Paris. During those two years I will have the chance to learn about different fields of Neuroscience and carry out two research projects.
