Physics
École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne
Switzerland
My long-term interests are mathematics and physics, with which I started to spend more time already during my first years at gymnazium PORG in Prague. Thanks to possibilities of abroad-stays offered by my school, in sexta I studied in Lincoln, UK, where over the course of two years I successfully completed A-levels from Mathematics, Physics and Further Mathematics. Following year I also finished my Czech gymnazium studies with honours.
I have followed up my secondary school results by studying Physics at very demanding École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, one of two prestigious Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Switzerland. Here I try to make use of high-quality teaching, special lectures and courses. I am socially active through our university organisation Coaching and I am also developping my language skills; this year I started learning German.
I devote my spare time mostly to music and folklore of south Moravia, where my family comes from. I play the violin and dance in a folklore ensemble, however, I am interested in other musical genres, too. With my classmate I co-founded a jazz band at EPFL with which we perform at festivals and events at EPFL.
