Itzia Crespo is a multimedia journalist and recent graduate from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus on print and film. During her time there, Crespo led the State Press Magazine as managing editor and eventually Editor-in-Chief, launching the publication's first Spanish language print magazine and social media campaigns. Crespo is a recipient of the Broadcast Education Association's student documentary award for "Holding on to the Corn," a micro-documentary on agriculture traditions on Native Hopi land. She is a first-generation Mexican American immigrant pursuing journalism with hopes to make it more accessible for people in her community, as well as others. Crespo has worked as a reporter for the Phoenix New Times; Cronkite News, the news section of Arizona PBS; AZ Big Media and more.
