I began to lean towards natural sciences during the secondary school and I realised that research could be a fulfilling career for me. My bacchelor‘s course at the UCT Prague and a concurrent research internship at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the CAS have confirmed my expectations. Now, I have an opportunity to continue in my studies in a research-based graduate course MPhil in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, where I will focus on peptide and protein folding and aggregation. These phenomena have serious implications in a range of areas from biotechnological and pharmaceutical applications to medical disorders.
Many of my hobbies are connected to science. I greatly enjoy science popularisation and I try to save some time for organisation of chemistry competitions for secondary school pupils (e. g. KSICHT or Chemiklání), which I myself enjoyed participating in. If the time allows, I like to take walks in the countryside and gardening.
