I come from Vsetín, where I graduated the local grammar school in 2013. Thanks to the Foundation I was able to study physics at Johns Hopkins University in the US. Studying there was quite strenuous, but also very enriching. For example, during the summer of 2015, I worked on the project of Vacant Housing Dynamics in Baltimore City, where I helped analyse the situation of uninhabitable houses in Baltimore, of which there are more than 20 000. Because I started doing research rather quickly I was also allowed to graduate in four years with a Master of Arts. I continue with my physics studies as a doctoral student at RWTH Aachen, in Germany, where I work in the field of experimental particle physics. Specifically, I study the Higgs boson, using the data collected by the CMS Experiment at the LHC in CERN. Apart from physics, I am interested in education and as such, I am taking part in the Discover Summer Academy, as a tutor. During my high school years, I've also worked on a project of Biochemistry textbook for secondary schools, which is now freely available at flexibooks.cz (in Czech). In my free time I play the guitar and volleyball. I am also an avid skier.
