My name is Adam Křivka and my dream is to study at the best university in the world, MIT. Currently, I'm studying my last year at the St. Cyril and Methodius grammar school in Brno. My wide interests include all natural sciences, but also art and social sciences lately. However, as my main subject of study, I would like to choose Physics because I think it offers a great starting point to all other disciplines.
My high school years have been and still are very busy. It all began when I started participating in the Math Olympiad and then CTM (Center for Talented Minds) online courses. I competed in all sorts of competitions, olympiads and correspondence seminars. The past two years, I led a Math circle at my school and engaged in preparing the students for competitions as well as teaching them interesting Math.
On top of the regular school program, I have taken four Advanced Placement exams (Calculus, Physics twice and Economics). I have also began preparing for the actual application, taking the required Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and appropriate Subject Tests.
Previous year, I conducted research in the field of Solar System Dynamics at the Astronomical Institute of Charles University about an asteroid family. I managed to take part in the International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) in the USA with the study. I'm planning to write an article for an academic journal.
Outside school, I am an active boy-scout and I practice karate, in which I possess a black belt and I mainly train children nowadays, but I used to compete on the national level as well. In all my activities, I enjoy teaching others and having an impact on my surroundings a lot. In my actual free time, I like to hack and code, spend time with friends (mainly with my absolutely wonderful classmates) or play the guitar.
