Erika Kinetz, an investigative reporter with the Associated Press and contributor to PBS Frontline, will share her expertise in interviewing techniques and data journalism, including methodologies used to document war crimes.
Anastasiia Morozova will join Journey this year as well. She is a data-driven investigative journalist working with VSquare and
Frontstory.pl, and a nominee for the Grand Press Award. Her work focuses on disinformation campaigns and influence operations in Central and Eastern Europe, with a strong emphasis on network analysis and open-source intelligence.
The photojournalism track will be led by
Petr Josek, a celebrated Czech photographer and Czech Press Photo laureate.
Fieldwork and Live Reporting
Beyond lectures and panel sessions, participants will engage in practical training. Under the guidance of senior editors from Reuters, they will learn how to prepare live reports and conduct interviews in real-time. Experienced mentors Michael Kahn and Paul Casciato will provide hands-on feedback and share their editorial insights.
Journey is designed for students with a strong interest in serious, ethical, and globally relevant journalism. This year’s cohort includes participants from 15 countries, including the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Poland, the UK, and the US. The Bakala Foundation provides full scholarships for all participants, covering accommodation, meals, and travel.
