The Kaplicky Internship is a program providing future and recent architecture graduates from Czech universities an opportunity to spend three months on a paid internship in a prestigious London studio. They have the chance to work on projects under the auspices of renowned architects and gain valuable work experience.
Applications for the 7th annual Kaplicky Internship competition are now closed.
The participant will be chosen through an architectural competition on a theme of their choosing during the last years of their university studies (third year of bachelor studies or later) or during the first year after graduation. The winner of the 2021 competition, Valerie Heyworth, was awarded an internship at Amanda Levete Architects in London and will be provided with airfare and pocket money for the stay.
The past years winners spent their internships at the following studios: Eva Jiricna Architects (2015), Zaha Hadid Architects (2016), Allies and Morrison (2017), Adjaye Associates (2018), Heatherwick Studio (2019) and David Chipperfield Architects (2020).
The dates of the internship are arranged individually depending on the schedules of the applicant and the studio.
The program is organized by the Bakala Foundation in cooperation with the Design Museum in London. The Kaplicky Centre Foundation is a partner of the program.
