Kaplicky Internship

The Kaplicky Internship is intended for recent graduates and students in the final year of master’s programs in architecture at Czech universities. Participants must be citizens of the Czech Republic or Slovakia. Strong working knowledge of English is required for participation.

Applications are now open until August 31, 2026.

Since 2022, the Kaplicky Internship competition has been included as a category of the Master´s Thesis Showcase organized by the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA). This enables students to apply for both the Master´s Thesis Showcase and the Kaplicky Internship at the same time.

The internationally acclaimed practice was founded by British architect Sir David Chipperfield. The studio is renowned for its philosophy of enduring quality, minimalist aesthetics, and its ability to bridge historical heritage with modern architecture. DCA’s projects are characterized by precise detailing, a profound respect for local context, and an emphasis on the social and environmental impact of the built environment. Key masterpieces include the restoration of the Neues Museum and the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, the Amorepacific headquarters in Seoul, and the James-Simon-Galerie. Through its non-profit Fundación RIA, the practice extends the scope of architecture toward sustainable urbanism and territorial planning.
