The Scholarship program is opening applications for the fifteenth time for those interested in studying abroad

November 10, 2023
November 10, 2023 - The Bakala Foundation launched the jubilee 15th year of the Scholarship program. It enables Czech students to realize their dream studies at prestigious universities abroad. So far, the Foundation has supported 205 scholars at 61 universities all over the world with an amount exceeding CZK 168 million.
Students interested in studying comprehensive bachelor's or master's programs at leading foreign universities can send their applications to the Scholarship program by January 10, 2024. Applicants with Czech citizenship or a permanent residence permit who are no older than 33 can apply. A three-round selection process awaits those interested in the scholarship again this year. Important criteria include, among others, the ability to demonstrate your motivation to study, excellent academic results to date and the need for a scholarship to complete your studies. In the final phase, the selected applicants will be invited to personal interviews with an expert jury.
Scholars who succeeded last year went to study at leading universities in Great Britain, the United States of America, France or Germany. They mostly went on to bachelor's studies, specifically natural science fields such as biomedical engineering, medicine, economics, mathematics, as well as technical fields and social sciences or playing the cimbalom.
Those interested can also learn more about the possibility of scholarships at two info seminars in the premises of the Student Hub of the Bakala Foundation in Prague 1, Malá Strana, which can also be accessed online.

As part of preparation for studying abroad, this year there are also two workshops focused on writing essays presented by Ondřej Černý, who graduated from the University of Oxford with the support of a scholarship. Participants will receive detailed instructions on how to write the best possible essay in their scholarship application, but will also use this skill extensively during their study abroad experience. In addition, they will receive individual feedback on their own essays.
