2017 Top Czech Women Awards

The Top Czech Women Awards, organized by the newspaper Hospodarske noviny, and now in its 13th year, has proudly announced this year’s winners. The first places in their respective categories went to Tatana le Moigne, head of the country’s Google branch, Jaroslava Valova, founder of Siko Koupelny [Siko Bathrooms] and Dana Drabová, chairwoman of the State Office for Nuclear Safety. Three top positions in a special category for Startups, (without a ranking) also received awards. In an especially proud moment, Blanka Říhová, an immunologist and chairwoman of the Czech Immunological Society, as well as Petra Prochazkova, CFO of Agrofert, were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The annual survey, received nearly 400 nominations, recognizing inspiring and successful managers, businesswomen, startup founders, and women in the public sphere. The awards highlight these women for their career achievements, their ability to make decisions, and take responsibility for them. The Hall of Fame is dedicated to those ladies who have become winners or multiple winners in their category and have scored high rankings for several years. Michaela Bakala, in an opening word, welcomed guests and, expressed her excitement at the sharp increase in the number of nominees for the awards. In her speech, she also pointed out the #Metoo movement’s negative aspects and questioned the lack of female candidates in the Czech presidential election held earlier in the year.
