About Scholarship

The Bakala Foundation Scholarship Program enables recipients to achieve their educational dreams by helping to fund bachelor’s or master’s degrees at foreign universities.
In the 14 years of the program’s existence, we have supported 205 students with their studies at 61 universities in 11 countries. Join them!

Who can apply?

Applicants must be:
  • Under 34 years of age (as of the date of application);
  • In their final year of study at high school or enrolled at university;
  • Citizens od permanent residents of the Czech Republic;
  • Holders of an excellent academic record;
  • Unable to fully cover tuition fees at a university abroad due to their financial situation;
  • Eager to study or already studying towards bachelor´s or master´s degree at a foreign university;
  • Seeking stimulating academic experience that will enhance their intellectual enrichment and advancement, not just a cultural exchange or improvement of their language skills;
  • Motivated to effect positive change through their studies and future career.

Finalize your choice of foreign university and field of study.
November 10, 2023
Applications open.
January 10, 2024
Applications close.
End of March
We will let you know how you did in Round 1 of the selection process.
Mid May
We will inform you of the results of Round 2 of the selection process.
June 11 and 12
We will invite selected candidates to a face-to-face interview with an expert jury at the Bakala Foundation’s headquarters in Prague. Afterwards, we will announce the scholarship winners.
June 13, 2024
We will announce results.
